I am one of those people who likes getting “owner’s manuals” when I purchase something new. For instance, as a rule I would not think of just starting up a new washing machine without first reviewing the user’s guide that accompanies it. I don’t know if it’s a generational thing, but this preference differs significantly from the approach used by my Millennial-age sons, who would be more inclined to simply dive in (no pun intended) and start punching the buttons. Through the trial-and-error method, they’d eventually learn what they need to know and in pretty short order achieve washing machine mastery without ever consulting the how-to guide.
My sons’ formula seems to work very well for them where things like tablets, toasters and Roombas are concerned!
